Jouer Fall Le Matchbox

Jouer Le Matchbox is a quarterly subscription for $45. It is full of their beautiful makeup products! The fall box is currently sold out so you will have to wait till the next one to sign up. You can also buy these one time purchase for $65.

The packaging is always wonderful – it is a sturdy felt lined box that will be great to reuse.

Ready to Wear Palette in Cool – This is worth $48 and a great sub box item! There is a separate palette of warmer colors for the warm box; both were new to Jouer and introduced in this box. This has for shadows in purple and black colors. The black one has sparkle in it. I have enjoyed using these to create different looks. There is a bronzer, blush and hilighter on the left. I had already gotten a bronzer in a previous box and swapped it. I might use this one a little bit. The blush is a nice rosy pink color, but does not show up much on my skin. I like lots of blush! The hilighter is a cream which is disappointing to me. I prefer powder in all my makeup products (except maybe eyeshadow). Using is cream over the other powder products is weird to me. Overall I feel like this is a solid palette!

Long-Wear Eye Brightening Primer – ($24) This is a cream primer that is supposed to illuminate and even out skin tone. This isn’t something I use everyday but it is nice to have. It works well to keep the shadow in place and has soothing ingredients.

Kitten Liner– ($28) This is my fourth liquid eyeliner pen and I love them! They create such a nice, bold, clean line. This one is great and a new product for Jouer that launched in this box.

Moisturizing Lip Gloss – sample in Pink Glace. On the website this is described as a shimmering nude pink. It is really shimmery – a little too much for me. I just like some nice glisten and shine. This comes in so many colors that I would like to try another one. The formula is nice though.

The value for this box is a little over $100 which I feel like is a good value. There is always a nice mix of products and a great booklet with pictures and more info. I almost forgot that there was also a nice totebag with gold writing that says “friends don’t let friends have bad eyebrows”. There were several different sayings that went out to subscribers.

Jouer Summer Matchbox

Jouer Matchbox is a quarterly subscription of curated products for your skin coloring. It’s $45 a box and a great value in my opinion. I get the cool box and really liked the picks for the summer.

The box this month is different that last time – it’s even nicer! It is sturdy and velvet lined!

I love that all the goodies are in boxes.

Every package comes with a really nice booklet detailing all the products and application tips.

Mineral Powder Bronzer – This color Suntan is a matte honey bronze. It contains antioxidants and Vitamins C & E. I stopped wearing bronzer for a long time and recently took it up again for contouring. I’ll keep it as a backup if my other one ever runs out.

Tint Sample in Petal – I’m not a huge fan of cream formulas but this one is really nice and a subtle color of rosy pink. I would only wear it on my cheeks, not my lips.

Everyday Effortless Mascara – I got the shade Brun which is a black brown – maybe it will be less harsh than normal black. This full size mascara look smaller than normal mascaras. I haven’t tried it out yet but I’m always happy to have a backstock of mascara.

Creme Eyeshadow in Organza – This is the product I was most excited about. This shimmering lavender taupe color is super wearable for everyday but very shimmery. It creases unless I wear a primer. I would love to try other colors of this.

Lip Sheer SPF 15 in Tulum – This sheer cool pink is basically the same color as the last lip product in my Matchbox. The color is very bright and I can tell it has SPF in it. I would have loved to try a different color of this.

Overall I am still very happy with this subscription and will finish out the year with it to see what surprises I keep getting!

Jouer Le Matchbox 1

Jouer Le Matchbox is a new subscription service from the French inspired makeup brand Jouer. Jouer is available on Birchbox so I had sampled a few of their products before and many more are on my wishlist! Their packaging and colors are gorgeous so I thought I would give it a go. It is $45 quarterly. Also you can pick warm or cool shades to complement your skin tone. This is a review of the cool box.

Right off the back the packaging is beautiful – light pink and gold box with a satin ribbon tie.

First look inside – they include a small magazine highlighting all the products included and how to use this. This is much prettier than the typical product card so props to them!

All products came in light pink boxes but I took them out for pictures.

Travel Eyelash Curler – I don’t see this on the website, but it’s a nice addition. Personally I don’t curl my eyelashes much so this will be swapped.

Mini Perfume Oil Rollerball – This is a very floral and pretty scent of gardenia, honeysuckle and jasmine. I’m not used to a scent in an oil but I find it stays pretty well throughout the day. Sometimes it’s hard to get the oil out but I feel like a rollerball is smart. Glad I got to try this one.

Daily Repair Treatment Oil – This product alone is worth more than the whole box! I don’t usually use face oils because my face is oily in the first place! This product sounds like a good one though: An advanced complexion oil formulated with Revinage™,a bioretinol complex that mimics the positive effects of a Retinol, without the harsh side effects. Rose Hip Oil delivers antioxidant protection, while Starflower Oil quenches and helps to rejuvenate the skin, providing optimal hydration benefits. The result is skin that appears smoother, firmer, and more resilient. I’ve used it several times and it has barely any scent and feels nice.

Hydrating Lipstick in Whitney – I LOVE lipstick and this shade is gorgeous! Such a fun pop of pink. This formula is really moisturizing too – made with Brazil’s Cupuaçu Butter. This made me think it might not stay on well, but I was wrong! This lippie is a winner!

Creme Eyeshadow Crayon in Abstract – This is a very soft creamy shadow with a built in sharpener so it could work as a liner as well. This is a black that has a nice shimmer to it and would be good for a smoky eye (which I never do).

Here they are swatched – the lipstick looks light but don’t be fooled!

photo 2-73

Mineral Powder Blush in Peony – WOW that’s PINK! How fun though. It matches really well with the lipstick. It reminds me of a blush I bought from Birchbox a while back – Stila Custom Color Blush. Both are a very cool vibrant pink. You gotta be careful about how much you put on!

Flat Kabuki Brush – I’m happy they included a brush as I don’t have a kabuki one yet. The bristles are very soft.

Here’s the look I created using all the products! That pink lipstick is a favorite of mine now! What do you think of this box? Would you order one?
